Miranda Cook is a senior from Lost River, WV
She is majoring in music education, and is also pursuing a minor in history. Miranda is interested in researching the advocacy of music education, how music affects the brain, and analyzing aptitude. She will be conducting her research under the guidance of Dr. Sandra Schwartz. Miranda plans to pursue a doctorate in music education in order to inspire and motivate students with the power of music. Some of her extracurricular activities include being a member of Kappa Kappa Psi where she has served as the Awards Chair for the Omicron Chapter, the Northeast District Secretary/Treasurer, and currently the Northeast District Vice President; the National Society of Leadership and Success where she has served as the Vice President and President; the National Association for Music Educators, and the SSS TRIO Ambassador Program. Besides her passion of performing and promoting music, she enjoys painting, reading, and traveling.
