Isaac Portillo is a junior from Redondo Beach, California. He is pursuing a major in art history, with a minor in economics.
He is a first-generation Salvadorian-American, and a fourth generation Japanese-American. After graduation, Isaac plans to obtain a Ph.D. in art history. His favorite art period is Baroque, and he has an interest in art theory/criticism and curatorial studies. Isaac will be working with Dr. Janet Snyder for his McNair research, which will focus on his interests in curating. In his free time, Isaac works as a tour guide for the visitor’s center, where he enjoys sharing his love of WVU. He enjoys good food, cooking, traveling to art museums, and exploring Appalachia.
